Terms of Service

Last updated: SEPTEMBER 2026

1. Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Snapline. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it, and “you” means that company.

They work together with our Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and License Agreement.

2. What Snapline is

Snapline is an app for photographing job sites and having those photographs organised automatically, with tools for reporting on and sharing them. It is a documentation tool. It is not a system of record for legal, insurance, regulatory or safety compliance, and it is not a substitute for your own professional judgement.

3. Accounts and organisations

You need an account, and accurate details on it. You are responsible for what happens under your credentials, so keep them to yourself and tell us promptly if they are compromised.

Snapline is organised around organisations. Whoever creates one is its account holder and controls it: they can invite and remove members, change settings, and delete the organisation and everything in it. Content captured into an organisation belongs to that organisation, not to the individual who captured it. If you are joining your employer's organisation, understand that what you photograph into it is visible to them.

4. Your content stays yours

Your photographs, notes and everything else you put into Snapline remain yours. We claim no ownership.

You grant us only the licence we need to run the service: to store your content, to generate the derivatives and thumbnails the app displays, to send it to the AI providers named in our Privacy Policy so it can be captioned and filed, to produce the reports and share links you ask for, and to back it up. That licence exists only to operate Snapline for you and ends when you delete the content, subject to the retention window described in the Privacy Policy.

You confirm that you have the right to capture and upload what you upload — including permission to photograph the property, and permission for any identifiable person in a photograph.

5. AI output is a suggestion

Snapline's captions, trades, phases and project matches are generated by AI and are suggestions. They can be wrong. Measurements taken with the LiDAR sensor are estimates from consumer hardware and are not survey-grade. You are responsible for checking anything you rely on, and for anything you send to a customer.

6. Plans, ceilings and billing

Snapline is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store. A plan sets how many photographs your organisation may hold. Payment, renewal, refunds and cancellation are handled by Apple under your Apple ID; we cannot process a refund on Apple's behalf.

If you reach your ceiling, nothing already stored is deleted. New photographs are held on your device and recorded as waiting, and are imported when there is room — because you upgraded, or because you deleted something.

We may change prices. Changes apply from your next renewal, and we will give notice before they take effect.

7. Acceptable use

Our Acceptable Use Policy is part of these Terms. In short: do not use Snapline to break the law, to photograph people or property you have no right to photograph, to store material you have no right to store, or to attack the service or anyone else through it.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to keep Snapline available and we do not promise it always will be. We may change, add or remove features. If we discontinue something you depend on, or discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and time to export your data.

9. Ending the agreement

You may stop at any time: cancel the subscription in your Apple ID settings and delete the account when you are ready. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or where the law requires it — with notice unless the breach makes notice unsafe or impossible.

On termination your right to use Snapline ends. Deletion of your data follows the Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

Snapline is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI output will be accurate.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they do not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue or business opportunity.

Our total liability arising out of or relating to Snapline is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Keep your own copies. Snapline stores your photographs but is not a backup service, and you should not treat it as your only copy of anything that matters. Photographs you take in the app are also saved to your device's photo library.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Indemnity

You will indemnify us against claims arising from content you upload, from your use of Snapline in breach of these Terms, or from your infringement of someone else's rights.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction — except that a consumer may bring proceedings in their own place of residence where the law gives them that right.

If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. Our not enforcing something is not a waiver of it.
